A hot water system is a closed system, so most of the oxygen is removed during purging and corrosion is brought down to a minimal. With steam there is a lot of oxygen which will cause corrosion in the 007. Anyone with any more reasons feel free to add.

If no luck, then fit a plastic cold water tank fed from the mains, having only the kitchen tap from the mains pipe, and fit a pump, pumping from the tank to the cold water taps and combi.
